Court of Appeals affirms denial of Special Appearance allowing dispute to move forward
Following the denial of a special appearance in a dispute centered on a letter-of-credit financing arrangement, Chris Reynolds and Jeremy Doyle handled an appeal on behalf of Plaintiffs New Executive Group Limited, TransAmerica Investment Group, Inc. and John Berry. The Fourteenth Court of Appeals affirmed the denial of Booth Creek’s special appearance. Reynolds Frizzell will try the case with Plaintiffs’ existing counsel moving forward.

Motions to Dismiss affirmed on appeal in favor of defendant and his law firm
Jean Frizzell, Solace Southwick, and Harris Wells represented Michael Pohl and his law firm in a suit against several defendants for breach of contract, conversion, theft of trade secrets and civil conspiracy. After the Defendants’ motions to dismiss were denied, the Reynolds Frizzell team handled the appeal defending that result. The First Court of Appeals affirmed the denial of the motions to dismiss and remanded the case to state court for further proceedings.

Jeremy Doyle and Jennifer Josephson represented a major personal injury law firm and obtained a summary judgment dismissing all claims asserted against the law firm. Plaintiffs appealed arguing that the trial court erred by granting summary judgment and abused its discretion by excluding evidence and denying a motion for continuance to conduct discovery. The First Court of Appeals affirmed the trial court’s dismissal of all claims.
