Represented Energy Transfer Partners in a suit filed by Enterprise Texas Pipeline. Enterprise sued Energy Transfer for, among other things, allegedly breaching a pipeline agreement concerning Energy Transfer’s operation of the 240-mile Old Ocean Pipeline. Enterprise sought from Energy Transfer damages of approximately $400 million. After a jury trial, Enterprise was awarded only $2.3 million in actual damages, amounting to approximately 1/2 of 1% of Enterprise’s claimed actual damages in the case. Final judgment has not yet been entered, and Energy Transfer currently is seeking to set aside the amount awarded by the jury.
