Biography

Jennie Mook is a meticulous and practical litigator. As a trial attorney, Jennie approaches complex business and corporate disputes with careful preparation and a clear-eyed understanding of the issues driving each case, whether she’s supporting a large trial team or taking a lead role on a critical issue.

Jennie’s path to trial work took shape during her judicial externship with the Honorable Robert E. Bacharach of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit, where she saw firsthand how appellate courts approach complex litigation. She spent the next several years building a practice centered on business and corporate litigation, including contract disputes, class actions, trust and fiduciary duty disputes, closely held business and shareholder disputes, banking litigation, and oil and gas disputes, along with extensive experience obtaining and defeating temporary restraining orders and preliminary injunctions. She also developed a specialty in anti-SLAPP litigation, including successfully obtaining dismissals under the Oklahoma Citizens Participation Act. Immediately before joining Reynolds Frizzell, Jennie served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Scott L. Palk of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Oklahoma, drafting opinions and bench memoranda and assisting with case analysis and trial preparation. She is licensed to practice in Texas and Oklahoma.

Before pursuing a legal career, she spent years working in wildlife biology and environmental science, partnering with organizations including the National Park Service and the U.S. Forest Service. That grounding in science and natural resources now informs her work on oil and gas, renewable energy, and environmental matters, giving her a perspective few litigators bring to the table.

Jennie is a driven individual who has consistently taken on more than the standard path requires. During her undergraduate studies at the University of Oklahoma, she earned three bachelor’s degrees in zoology, environmental studies, and psychology in just four years. She later graduated with highest honors from the University of Oklahoma College of Law in 2021, where she served as Articles Editor of the Oklahoma Law Review, was inducted into the Order of the Coif and National Order of Scribes, and received six American Jurisprudence Awards.

Anti-SLAPP Dismissal on Behalf of a Municipality

Secured a complete dismissal of all claims against a municipal client under the Oklahoma Citizens Participation Act, the state’s anti-SLAPP statute enacted to shield defendants from meritless litigation.

Professional Malpractice Defense

Secured a complete defense verdict in a jury trial for a professional services firm in a $7.2 million malpractice lawsuit, in which plaintiffs alleged the firm had failed to adequately protect their interests while resolving a dispute with the IRS.

Pre-Suit Medical Billing Dispute

Represented a major healthcare system and physician group in resolving a complex medical billing dispute before litigation was filed. Through strategic demand letters, mediation, and detailed financial analysis, the matter was resolved to address underlying revenue cycle issues, maintain compliance with federal healthcare regulations such as the Stark Law, and avoid the cost and uncertainty of a lawsuit.

National Staffing Agency Summary Judgment

Obtained a complete summary judgment for a national temporary staffing agency in litigation involving seven separate causes of action, including negligent hiring and supervision, vicarious liability, and breach of contract, with more than $10 million in damages at stake.
